BSc Zoology

The Zoology BSc at Queen's University Belfast is a full-time undergraduate course dedicated to the study of animal life, covering all aspects from cell structure to the evolution of species. Covering an extensive curriculum, this course presents the opportunity to study a broad range of topics including animal behaviour, conservation biology, and wildlife management, leading to a wide range of careers within the field. Course Content: The course takes a hands-on approach to the study of Zoology, targeting the understanding of animal biology from the level of the gene to the level of the ecosystem. Fundamental principles are introduced in year one, and built upon, with the conduction of research projects in year two and specialisation in year three. Course content includes subjects such as Animal Form and Function, Environmental Biology, Evolutionary Biology, amongst many more. Key Modules: Some of the key modules covered in this course include Animal Biology, Aquatic Zoology, Animal Behaviour, Comparative Animal Physiology, Vertebrate Zoology, and Ecological Management.
