BEng Aerospace Engineering

The BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast provides an in-depth knowledge of aerospace systems, skills in design and development, and insights into the latest in aerospace technology. The degree programme addresses the needs of the modern aerospace industry by considering not only jet-powered craft, but also aircraft that employ novel forms of propulsion, such as electric and environmentally friendly power technologies.Course Content: Throughout the course, students will cover topics such as Fluid Mechanics, Control Systems and Modelling, Thermodynamics and Propulsion, Manufacturing Technology and Materials, Aircraft Structures and Aerodynamics, and Aircraft Design and Performance. The course also has mandatory modules on Engineering Computation and Simulation and on Engineering Management and Business Studies.Key Modules: The programme includes important modules like Introduction to Aerospace, Thermofluids, Solid Mechanics, Aerospace Design, Materials and Manufacture, Signal Analysis and Control, and Aerodynamics.Accreditations: This degree is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). This will put graduates on a path to gaining Chartered Engineer status.Future Careers: Graduates from this course can pursue career opportunities in the aerospace sector with international firms like Bombardier, Rolls-Royce, and Airbus. Possible roles include Aerospace Engineer, Control and Instrumentation engineer, CAD technician, and more.
