The Philosophy & Politics BA (VLM2) at Queen's University Belfast is a full-time undergraduate degree programme that enables students to develop critical thinking and analytical skills by studying philosophy and politics, two closely interconnected subject areas that have helped to shape the world we live in.Course Content: The philosophy part of this degree offers students a broad perspective on fundamental issues, such as existence, reality, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and ethics. The politics component provides an insight into political behaviour, public policies, and the workings of government in different political systems worldwide. In their studies, students will have the opportunity to engage with important political, ethical, and social issues, and develop their capacities for informed judgement and articulate, critical and imaginative thinking.Key Modules: While specific modules may vary from year to year, Leicester's philosophy department emphasizes logic, moral and political philosophy, metaphysics, epistemology, and the philosophy of mind. Moreover, the politics area is focused on four key themes—Political institutions, Political behaviour, International relations, and Public policy.Future Careers: Graduates from the Philosophy & Politics program can find career opportunities in a wide range of sectors such as policy-making, non-governmental organizations, government service, journalism, broadcasting, teaching, and law.
