The History & Spanish BA at the Queen's University Belfast is a four-year undergraduate program that offers students the opportunity to delve deep into history and Spanish. The course aims to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the past, present, and future through the study of events, cultures, people and languages. Course Content: The course starts in the first year covering introductions to history and Spanish with the key historical themes and periods. In the second year, it involves the study of a wide range of historical and Hispanic issues, and modules in medieval, early modern, Irish and global history. During the third year, students will spend time living or working in a Spanish speaking country. The final fourth year involves a research dissertation and students can choose modules based on their interest. Key Modules: The key modules in this course include "Understanding the Past", "Spain and Latin America: Cultural Identities", "Sources and Skills for Historians", "History in Practice: Public History and its Urban Contexts", "Enlightenment, Revolution and the Modern World", and "Medieval Europe: An introduction". History & Spanish graduates have entered advertising, manufacturing, retailing, banking construction, education, government and much more.
