MSci Applied Psychology (Clinical)

The MSci Applied Psychology (Clinical) is an integrated undergraduate and postgraduate course offered by the University of Reading. This course is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to work in clinical psychology and related fields. The therapeutic training included in the course is a distinctive feature at the undergraduate level. Course Content: This comprehensive five-year course integrates undergraduate and postgraduate study into a single programme, enabling students to gain a master’s degree with advanced clinical training. Students will spend three years studying a BSc in Psychology that is accredited by the British Psychological Society. In the final two years, they will move onto the MSci, involving therapeutic training typically not available at undergraduate level.Key Modules: A wide variety of modules is offered throughout the course, focusing on areas such as core areas of Psychology, neurodevelopmental disorders, cognitive behavioural therapy, and interpersonal psychotherapy for adolescents. Accreditations: This course provides a Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society, necessary for postgraduate training in psychology. Future Careers: This course prepares students for a career as a chartered psychologist. It also helps students to develop skills valued by many employers such as problem-solving, research and team-work.
