The BSc Physical Geography at The University of Reading focuses on exploring the physical processes and systems that shape the natural environment, from glaciers and deserts to rivers and seas. This three to four-year full-time course provides students with an in-depth understanding of the geological, biological, and atmospheric phenomena occurring on our planet.Course Content: The curriculum includes a progressive understanding of key geographical techniques (GIS, remote sensing, and modelling) and physical processes (climate change, water resources, natural hazards, and environmental change) from global to local scales. In addition, students enjoy field-based learning in the UK and overseas, focusing on developing investigative and analytical skills. There’s also an independent research project in the final year, where students get hands-on experience of their chosen area of physical geography.Key Modules: Key modules include Practical Physical Geography, Climate Change: Science and Society, Quaternary Environmental Change, Glacial Processes and Landforms, Biogeography, and Hydrology and Fluvial Geomorphology.
