The BEng Architectural Engineering International Foundation Programme offered by the University of Reading is an extensive course designed for international students who wish to pursue their undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering. The course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop their academic English language and study skills. It is a one-year programme that prepares students for career development by providing a foundation in Mathematics, Physics, and Design principles. Course Content: This course includes teaching on fundamental theories and principles of Architecture and Engineering, common elements of construction, including materials, common elements, and energy and environment and the application of mathematics and physics in engineering. Students will also develop key skills in academic English and study skills in preparation for undergraduate study. Key Modules: The programme is comprised of 3 main modules: Architecture & the Built Environment, Engliish for Academic Purposes, and Maths & Science. The Architecture & the Built Environment module covers principles of structural & environmental design, introduction to and site visits to buildings of architectural interest. The English for Academic Purposes module imparts skills necessary for university study. Maths and Science for Engineers covers the applications of physics and mathematics in engineering. Accreditations: This course is a part of the International Foundation Programme, which is accredited by the University of Reading. Future Careers: After completion, students are eligible for progression to a related undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering at the University of Reading. With its interdisciplinary focus, this degree can open doors to careers in architecture, engineering, project management, property or construction.
