BA Theatre and Performance

The BA Theatre course at the University of Reading provides an extensive overview of theater history, theory, and practice while offering opportunities for practical experience. The course allows students to immerse themselves in theater, explore their creative ideas, and gain hands-on experience in producing theater.Course Content: The BA Theatre course covers areas such as contemporary theater practices, theatrical performance styles, text analysis, and the design and technical aspects of theater. Students undertake a major independent study project of their choice and have the chance to engage in study abroad opportunities. Individual written and practical feedback is provided to all students through the course.Key Modules: Some of the key modules in this course include: Theatre 1: Page to Stage; Contemporary Theatre: Theories and Practices; Theatre Workshop: Exploring Theatrical Styles; and Theatre in History.Accreditations: The BA Theatre course at the University of Reading is recognized by the National Council for Drama Training (NCDT).Future Careers: Graduates of the course have found roles in a range of fields such as acting, directing, stage management, writing, teaching, and arts administration.
