BA Philosophy and Politics

The BA Philosophy and Politics course at the University of Reading offers an exciting union of two complementary subjects – Philosophy, and Politics. This course empowers students to examine the world from multiple perspectives and develops their understanding of political theory, political economy, international relations, and philosophy.Course Content: The core content of the BA Philosophy and Politics course consists of theoretical and practical aspects of both subjects. Students will explore political ideologies, international relations, moral and political theory in their years of study. They will also have the opportunity to engage with philosophical theories and its interface with politics. There is also the flexibility to choose optional modules offered by the departments of Politics and International Relations and Philosophy.Key Modules: Some key modules in this course include ‘Introduction to philosophy’, ‘Political theory’, ‘Modern political thought’, ‘Ethics’, ‘Introduction to international relations’ among other modules that hone critical thinking and analytical abilities in students.
