You will be learning all about archaeology and ancient history from world-leading experts.Course Content: The course focuses on the ancient civilizations of Greece, Rome, and Egypt, as well as the civilizations of the Near East. You will also study archaeology, focusing on both the theory and the practical aspects, including excavation. The first year includes modules on Greek and Roman History, Egyptian and Near Eastern Civilizations, and Introductory Archaeology. In the second year, students will focus more keenly on specific areas within these fields. For the final year, students return to the University of Reading where they will carry out a piece of original research in the form of a dissertation.Key Modules: Key modules of this course include The Roman Empire, Aegean Prehistory, Field Techniques in Archaeology, Gods and Goddesses in Ancient Egypt, Greek Mythology, and The Roman Near East.Future Careers: After graduation, students may find jobs within sectors such as museums, heritage organisations, archaeological units, the media industry, teaching, and local government.
