MSc Oral Biology

The Oral Biology MSc at Queen Mary University of London provides students with the opportunity to acquire substantial knowledge and understanding of oral biology and the theories, principles and practices in the science. The course is designed for dental graduates who aspire to academic positions in oral biology in the UK or overseas, clinical or research posts in the UK, and for general practitioners wishing to update their knowledge of oral biology. Course Content: The programme consists of a research project module which forms a substantial part of the year-long degree. The taught component of the programme comprises five core modules, each running over three weeks, plus a one-week introductory orientation module at the start of the programme.Key Modules: The core modules are Biochemical and Cell Biology, Physiology and Pathology of the Oral Cavity, Microbiology and Immunology, Dental Biomaterials, Statistics and Research Methodology, and finally the Research Project.Accreditations: The programme is constributary towards Fellowship in Dental Surgery (FDS), Royal College of Surgeons.Future Careers: Graduates of this programme will be equipped with a wide range of skills and knowledge that are attractive to potential employers.
