The BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering course at Queen Mary University of London is an integrated programme that offers a solid understanding of advanced mechanical engineering and fundamentals in engineering. Pupils will learn dynamics and control, solid body mechanics, materials, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer in the preliminary years, with optional modules in later years and design throughout.Course Content: The curriculum is dynamic and covers the necessary areas within mechanical engineering. Starting from the second year, students have a choice of optional modules that allow for specialization in specific areas. The final year project will enable students to demonstrate knowledge gained over the course duration in a practical, problem-solving scenario.Key Modules: Modules include Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, Structures and Mechanics, Manufacturing and Materials, Engineering Design, Dynamics and Control, Power Transmission and Auxiliary Machinery, and Heat Transfer.Accreditations: The course is fully accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and fulfils the academic requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer.Future Careers: Graduates will be well-equipped for careers in a range of industries including the automotive, aerospace, energy, construction, and pharmaceutical sectors. They could work as project managers, systems designers, research and development, consultants, and mechanical engineers. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
