BEng (Hons) Materials Science and Engineering

The Materials Science and Engineering BEng (Hons) course offered by Queen Mary University of London, is designed for students interested in materials, how they are made and how their structure can be modified to suit applications, particularly in engineering contexts. Course Content: This program provides knowledge within the scope of polymer science, metallurgy, ceramics, composites and biomaterials. Additionally, students are introduced to the world of work through a work-based learning module. Key Modules: The key modules in this course are Essentials of Materials Science, Design and Manufacture, Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Mathematics, Materials Processing and Design, Sustainability and Materials, Skills for Materials Scientists and Engineers, and Introduction to Aerospace Materials. The third year also includes an individual project.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the IOM3, the Institute of Materials, Minerals, and Mining.
