The Hispanic Studies and Linguistics course is an undergraduate programme offered at Queen Mary University of London. This three-year full-time course aims to provide excellent language training as well as deep insights into the cultural heritage, history, literature, politics, and social aspects of the Hispanic world. In addition, the programme provides a strong foundation in the theoretical and practical aspects of linguistics.Course Content: The course is designed to develop language proficiency skills in Spanish, Catalan, and Portuguese. It also offers study modules in linguistics including phonetics, syntax, and semantics. The modules cover interdisciplinary themes such as modern Latin America, Spanish and Latin American cinema, culture, history, and politics. On top of these, students will undergo language learning in small classes with a combination of one-to-one tutorials, seminars, and lectures. They can work in sectors such as education, translation, public relations, media, civil service and the charity sector, among others.
