The Film Studies and German course at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) offers a unique opportunity to engage with two fascinating disciplines. The combination enables students to develop a comprehensive understanding of German film and culture, while also gaining broader knowledge of international cinema.Course Content: The Film Studies and German degree consists of both compulsory and optional modules in a 50/50 split between film studies and German. In film studies, the modules provide a broad understanding of international cinema, exploring various genres of film. In the German part of the degree, students will develop a strong grounding in language skills and engage in detailed analysis of German culture and history. Key Modules: Some of the critical modules included are 'Reading Film and Television', 'Movements in Film History', 'Horror and The Gothic Cinema', 'Introduction to German Studies', 'Language Skills' and 'German History and Ideas Since 1900'.
