The Sport and Exercise programme at the University of the West of Scotland is a postgraduate course designed to develop your knowledge and understanding in the field of sport and exercise science. It offers teaching in the latest innovative techniques, giving students the opportunity to enhance their abilities in research, critical analysis, and the application of these skills in a work-based environment.Course Content: This course introduces students to the contemporary issues of physical activity and health, placing emphasis on the development of applied research skills. Students will gain an understanding of the demands facing professionals working in the sports industry and will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet these demands.Key Modules: The key modules include Physical Activity and Health, Physiology of Endurance Performance, Applied Sports Performance Analysis, among others. In the final trimester, students will need to undertake a research project or dissertation in an area of sport and exercise that they are particularly interested in.Accreditations: The MSc Sport and Exercise course is accredited by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) under the BASES endorsements scheme.Future Careers: On completion of this course, students might pursue a career path in health promotion, the sports industry, performance analysis or research.
