BSc (Hons) Mathematics with Education

The Mathematics with Education course at the University of the West of Scotland is a dual qualification that mixes a comprehensive mathematics degree with educator training. This course focuses on mathematics as a creative discipline and integrates this with theory and practice of education. It enables students to acquire a deep understanding of mathematics with the practical skills needed to inspire and teach others. Course Content: The Mathematics with Education course comprises of modules such as algebra, calculus, statistics, math education and educational practice. Students learn in-depth various mathematical theories, statistical methods, and how to integrate them in educational settings.Key Modules: The key modules of this course include Essential Skills in Mathematics 1, Calculus, Algebra, Probability and Statistics, and Understanding Learning for Educators.Accreditations: Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a concurrent qualification in Mathematics and Education recognized by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
