The Aircraft Engineering course at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is an undergraduate programme designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the aircraft engineering industry. The course offers in-depth understanding of aircraft engineering systems, along with hands-on experience through industrial placements.Course Content: The course emphasises rail transport systems, global transport trends and challenges, transport management, sustainability in transport and freight transportation and logistics. Students will also learn about flight mechanics, aerodynamics, avionics, materials and structures, as well as propulsion systems, using state-of-the-art software and equipment. Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Engineering Design and Analysis, Electrical and Electronic Principles, Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics, Aircraft Structures, Aircraft Propulsion Systems, Avionics and Aircraft Systems, Aircraft Maintenance Practices and more.Accreditations: The course is accredited and recognised by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Chartered Institution of Logistics and Transport (CILT).Future Careers: Graduates of the course will be prepared for successful careers in the aviation industry, particularly in roles such as avionics engineers, flight engineers, or managerial roles in the aircraft engineering and maintenance industry. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
