MSc Biomedical Sciences

The MSc in Biomedical Sciences at the University of York is a full-time, one-year course that offers students an in-depth understanding of key areas in biomedical sciences. This course is designed for individuals eager to pursue research in various aspects of biomedical sciences including molecular and cellular biology, chemistry of biological systems, and the medical and physiological aspects of disease.Course Content: The content of this course includes Core skills for Biomedical Sciences, Contemporary Challenges in Biomedical Sciences, Specialist Topics in Biomedical Sciences and a supervised 5-month research project.Key Modules: Key modules of the course are Core Skills for Biomedical Sciences, Research Skills, and Specialist Topics in Biomedical Sciences. Students will also undertake a supervised research project which is a major part of the course.Accreditations: This course is not specifically accredited by any professional body, however, the departmental research activities are associated with the Experimental Medicine Theme in the Hull York Medical School (HYMS).Future Careers: The course provides an excellent basis for future careers in biomedical, pharmaceutical, and health science research.
