The MPhys Physics with a Year Abroad is a full-time undergraduate course offered by The University of York. The four-year study program allows students to spend their third year studying physics in a partner university outside of the UK, providing them with an international experience in this field.Course Content: Study commences with broad-based and largely common first year for all Physics and Astronomy students before specializing from the second year. The first year includes general Physics and Mathematics, and a special module 'Skills for Physicists'. From the second year is more specialized and includes modules in Quantum Physics, Electromagnetism, and Statistical Physics. The third year is conducted in a partner university outside the UK, where students will follow a program equivalent to the third year of this course at York. The final year focuses on advanced physics and includes options in Frontier Physics, Theoretical Physics, Quantum Field Theory, Quantum Information, and Soft Matter Physics.Key Modules: Some of the key modules included in the course are Mathematics for Physicists, Waves and Optics, Quantum Physics, Electromagnetism, Thermodynamics, Condensed Matter Physics, and Nuclear Physics.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Institute of Physics. Future Careers: Graduates from the MPhys Physics with a Year Abroad course typically progress to further study at PhD level or move directly into employment. Employment sectors include the Met Office, NHS, teaching, financial services, IT and computing, engineering and manufacturing companies. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
