MPhys (Hons) Physics

The MPhys Physics course offered by York University is a challenging and dynamic program designed for aspiring physicists. The program is divided into four years, each building upon the previous to help students develop their understanding and skills in physics progressively. Course Content: The MPhys Physics course is divided into four stages. The first year focuses on understanding the basics of physics, mathematics, and experimental skills. From the second year onward, students can customize their study based on their interests, choosing from a range of optional modules. The third year expands the knowledge of key physics topics and includes a module on professional skills for physicists. The fourth year sees students undertaking an innovative research project alongside further optional modules.Key Modules: Some of the key modules included in the course are Mechanics and Special Relativity, Thermodynamics, Quantum Physics, Electromagnetism, Condensed Matter Physics, and Nuclear and Particle Physics. Accreditations: This program is accredited by the Institute of Physics (IOP), providing students with a strong foundation for a professional career in physics and related fields.
