MNurs (Hons) Masters in Nursing (Adult)

The MNurs (Hons) Nursing (Adult) course at the University of York is a four-year integrated Master's degree program that enables students to train as a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. This course combines academic study with hands-on, practical experiences to prepare students for a fulfilling career in a diverse range of adult care settings.Course Content: The course commences with a sharp focus on the foundations of health and nursing. It ensures students learn about human anatomy, physiology, as well as nursing skills in laboratories, coupled with professional values and boundaries. Additionally, the course provides a blend of lectures, seminars, group work, and clinical simulation in small learning groups which retains the emphasis on nursing practice. In the final year, students have the advantage to embark on a 2,500-word policy analysis, a 9,000-word research project, and two practice placements. Key Modules: The key modules include Human Anatomy and Physiology, Fundamental Skills for Nurses, Applied Pharmacology, Long Term Conditions and Palliative Care, Foundations of Mental Health Nursing, and Research for Evidence-Based Practice.Accreditations: Upon successful completion of the course, students qualify to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as an Adult Nurse.Future Careers: Graduates are highly sought after in a variety of health and social care settings, both in the UK and overseas.
