MChem (Hons) Chemistry (with a year in industry)

The MChem Chemistry for Industry course at York University is a four-year undergraduate programme designed specifically for students who aim to work within the chemical or related industries. The course provides a rigorous foundation in the fundamentals of chemistry and practical skills desirable in industries, such as research, development, and production management. Course Content: The MChem Chemistry for Industry course covers all fundamental aspects of chemistry including Inorganic, Organic, and Physical chemistry along with Mathematical methods for chemists. You'll also focus on key industrial-based and project management modules in the third and fourth years. In addition, the course includes a required one-year in industry placement. The final year project will stem from the knowledge and experience gained during the industrial placement year.Key Modules: Precise modules vary over the course but some include Synthesis and Spectroscopy, Reaction Mechanisms and Advanced Laboratory, Materials in Industry, Project Management and white biotechnology.
