MA Medieval Studies

The MA Medieval Studies course is offered by the University of York and it entails getting a comprehensive understanding of the medieval period in Europe. It covers topics ranging from arts, history, literature and archaeology as they affect the medieval society. Course Content: The year-long program is composed of two terms where students are able to choose from a range of different modules which focus on different aspects of medieval society. This is then followed by a dissertation over the summer term. The course is delivered in seminars and there is ample time for individual study.Key Modules: A few of the notable modules that students will encounter in the course includes "Medieval Archaeology", "Interpreting the Middle Ages", "The Medieval Book", "York, the Northern Church and the Wider World", and "Shaping the Landscape: York in the Viking Age".
