The BSc Physics and Astrophysics course at the University of York merges the worlds of physics and astrophysics to provide students with a unique and comprehensive understanding of the Universe. Students will study both physics, the study of nature, and astrophysics, the exploration of celestial objects, space, and the physical universe as a whole. Course Content: The course covers an induction program, laboratories as well as a research project. The course covers three years where the first year gives a solid background in physics and mathematics. In the second year, students focus on more extensive physics and astrophysics topics. The final year focuses on deepening the understanding of the most important elements of physics and astrophysics. Key Modules: Some of the modules include Classical Physics, Astronomy and Relativity, Quantum Mechanics, Nuclear and Particle Physics, and a final year project on Physics and Astrophysics Research.Future Careers: Graduating students are sought after by employers for their problem-solving abilities, mathematical proficiency and experience in using advanced equipment. Careers can range from research (academic and industrial), through business and finance, to public service such as teaching. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
