The BEng in Electronic Engineering with a Foundation Year at the University of York provides students with the opportunity to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed in modern day electronics industry. By enrolling in this course, students strengthens their technical understanding, while gaining a wide range of skills which can open the door to a variety of careers.Course Content: The course provides profound learning in circuit theory, mathematics, and computer programming during the foundation year. The first year is designed to underpin the rest of the degree, followed by more specialised topics in later years, to prepare all students for their third year individual project. Students will also undertake a group project designed to encourage teamwork and the application of theory to practical problems.Key Modules: Key modules include Circuit Theory, Computer Programming, Digital Electronics and Systems, Communication Systems, Electronic Circuits and Devices.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Graduates in electronic engineering are highly sought after worldwide.
