The BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering course at the University of York equips students with relevant and up-to-date information in the field of electronic engineering. This three-year course offers a chance for students to work on individual and group projects, enabling them to explore the challenges faced by the industry.Course Content: This course covers a wide range of essential topics including Programming, Mathematics, Digital Electronics, Circuits, Signals and Systems, Control systems, Communication Systems, VLSI Design Techniques and Optoelectronic Devices. In the final year, students work on an individual project on a subject of their choice. This course offers a balance of lectures, workshops and labs, as well as substantial practical work, including digital systems, electronic circuits, software programming, and an introduction to communication systems and control systems.Key Modules: The key modules include a Foundation in Engineering, Digital and Analogue Electronics, Quantitative Methods for Engineers, Control Systems, and Real-time Systems and Applications.Accreditations: The BEng Electronic Engineering is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and fulfil the educational requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.Future Careers: Graduates of this course have gone on to work in diverse roles such as Design Engineer, Electronic Engineer, Network Engineer, Systems Analyst, and IT consultant.
