The BA (Bachelor of Arts) in Liberal Arts and Italian offered at the University of York is a flexible program that allows students to gain a comprehensive knowledge of Italian culture, language, and society, as well as a broad understanding of Liberal Arts. This course, which can be completed in four years, includes a year spent studying or working abroad in Italy.Course Content: The curriculum, which focuses on interdisciplinarity, enables students to study modules across a range of departments. Students have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of modules with a focus on critical thinking, communication, research, and project management. The language modules improve students’ language skills which culminate in a final year independent project.Key Modules: This course includes a selection of modules such as Foundations of Western Thought, The Art of Persuasion, Understanding Theatre, Elements of Linguistics, and a choice of Italian Language skills modules. When the year abroad is included, students take modules such as 'The Italian Job' work placements, or enroll in Italian Universities for Language and Culture modules.Future Careers: The broad skill set and knowledge base provided through this course equip students for a wide range of careers.
