The BA in German and Spanish with a Year Abroad course at the University of York offers students a comprehensive and in-depth study of both German and Spanish languages and cultures. This course enables students to develop their skills in two major world languages whilst gaining first-hand experience through a mandatory year abroad in the third year studying or working in Germany, Spain, Austria, Mexico, or South America.Course Content: During the course, the first year builds a solid foundation in both languages. In the second year, students explore literature, cinema, linguistics, and history of both cultures. The third year is spent abroad to develop language skills and cultural knowledge by choosing to either study at a partner institution or work as a language assistant or on a work placement.
