The BA in French and Spanish with a Year Abroad at the University of York is a full-time four-year program that provides students with a deep understanding of the languages, cultures, and societies of the French and Spanish speaking world. The course provides language training from beginners' to advanced levels in both languages along with insights into cultures and societies through study modules in history, politics, literature and more. A core component of the course is spending a year abroad in countries where the studied languages are spoken.Course Content: The course primarily focusses on improving proficiency in French and Spanish language, at either beginner's, intermediate or advanced stages. Students will also study a range of modules exploring the politics, history, literature, visual culture, linguistics and advanced translation of the French and Spanish speaking world.
