The BA in Archaeology and Heritage at the University of York is an innovative course that combines studying the past through its material remains with learning about and participating in the practice of heritage today. This course encompasses both the academic study of archaeology and the practical work of heritage management, allowing students to gain a double perspective on how we study, represent and conserve the past.Course Content: The course offers a wide variety of modules, covering everything from Archaeology in the World, Discovering the Past, Archaeology Lab, Living in the Roman World, to Early Medieval England: Life and Death on the Frontier, Art and Architecture in the Age of Chivalry, Ways of Seeing: Visual Culture and Heritage and England at the Time of the Norman Conquest. Key Modules: The first year explores the basics of archaeology and heritage, the second year explores major periods and themes while the third year allows students to develop their careers and deepen their knowledge of heritage.
