The Urban Development Planning MSc course offered by UCL (University College London) is a degree program that prepares students to work in international urban development policy and planning. This program is designed to provide a critical understanding of the issues associated with urban development policy and planning in both the Global North and South, with a focus on the study of the urban development processes in different nations, particularly those in the South.Course Content: The course includes classes covering key elements of urban development and planning. Students will learn about the theories and practices of urban development policy and planning, urbanisation processes and urban politics. There will also be a focus on the governance, policy and planning of urban services as well as the politics of urban development.Key Modules: The two core modules are Practice of Urban Development Planning and Theory of Urban Development Planning. To earn the degree, students will also need to complete either the Collaborative Planning Projects module and/ or one or two specialist optional modules selected from a wide range of options such as Crime and the City, Governing Places: Planning and Local Governance and Metropolitan Governance: Comparative Perspectives.Accreditations: Upon successful completion of 180 credits, you will be awarded an MSc in Urban Development Planning.
