The Sustainable Urbanism MSc at UCL's Faculty of the Built Environment (the Bartlett School of Planning) is a full-time one-year program, intended for those who want to shape the course of urbanization in a sustainable manner. The course critically engages the no-compromise approach to sustainable urbanism, focusing on the creation of places that are not only environmentally friendly but also socially just and economically productive. Course Content: This ground-breaking and globally unique course offers a holistic approach to studying sustainable urbanism, merging the disciplines of urban design, planning, and infrastructure. Throughout the course students will learn the theory and strategies behind sustainable urbanism whilst also gaining the practical skills needed to design sustainable urban environments. Key Modules: Key modules within this course include: Sustainable Urban Development, Urbanisation and Global Development Issues, Infrastructure Planning and Just, Sustainable Cities. Alongside these, students will also complete a comprehensive dissertation in Planning analysing a urban sustainability issue of their choice.Accreditations: Upon successful completion of 180 credits, you will be awarded a MSc in Sustainable Urbanism.Future Careers: Graduates of the Sustainable Urbanism MSc will find opportunities in central and local government, community organisations, the voluntary sector and non-governmental organisations.
