The Planetary Science MSc at the University College London (UCL) provides interdisciplinary training in planetary and space science, enabling students to understand and apply scientific techniques across the broad range of subjects involved in the field. It acts as a foundation for a research degree, and a stepping stone to a career in science, education, the civil service or industry.Course Content: The course is divided into three sections - the first containing core teaching in the sciences underpinning planetary science, space mission planning, and a group research project. The second section allows students to choose optional modules from a wide range of topics including planetary surfaces, the terrestrial planets, planetary atmospheres, the Earth and planets, and the harsh environment of space. The third section comprises an independent project.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS) and the Geological Society.Future Careers: Graduates of this course can proceed to a science-related career in education, the civil service or industry. A grounding in planetary and space science is a useful but not a necessary qualification for becoming a research scientist in academia or industry. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
