The Musculoskeletal Science and Medical Engineering MSc is a course offered by University College London (UCL). This program provides in-depth knowledge of the musculoskeletal system within health and disease contexts. It explores how engineering and physical sciences technologies can be applied in therapeutic settings.Course Content: Throughout the course, students will study core topics and more tailored modules which will focus on emerging technologies in orthopaedic biomedicine. The course content includes learning about musculoskeletal tissues and disorders, biomechanics and biotribology, experimental techniques and statistical methods, and biocompatibility of materials.Key Modules: The main modules examined within the course are Musculoskeletal Biology I and II, Orthopaedic Biomechanics, Biomaterials, Biomechanics and BioTribology, as well as different Biomechanics labs.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM).Future Careers: After successful completion of the Musculoskeletal Science and Medical Engineering MSc, graduates can find opportunities within health services, university or engineering industry research groups or in hospital-based research and development departments. Some graduates may also decide to go on to further PhD study. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
