MSc Health Data Science

The Health Data Science MSc offered by UCL is designed for those who want to pursue a career in the growing field of data science. The course aims to give students high-level skills and knowledge regarding the use of health data analysis methods. The program is delivered full time over one year or part time over two years.Course Content: The content of the MSc Health Data Science is divided into two parts. The first part consists of taught compulsory and optional modules involving computer programming, data wrangling and data cleaning, data visualisation, statistics, machine learning, epidemiology and health economics, health data governance and ethics, applications of health data for public health and patient benefit. The second part features a research project focusing on real-world data in a health-related context.Key Modules: Taught modules include Machine Learning for Health Data Science, Health Data Governance and Ethics, and Casual Inference and Exploratory Data Analysis in Health.Accreditations: The Master's program is accredited by the Institute of Health Records and Information Management (IHRIM) and the U.K. Council for Health Informatics Professions (UKCHIP). Future Careers: The Health Data Science master's course prepares students well for careers in health data science, being a data scientist in the healthcare industry, a health information manager, a health data analyst among others.
