The Geoscience MSc course at UCL provides a thorough grounding in the principles and methods of geoscience, focusing on Earth systems processes and the changing biosphere. The course equips students with the necessary skills to take on geoscience related roles in a range of sectors or progress to doctoral studies.Course Content: This pathway offers modules that encompass different aspects of geoscience, including understanding and interpreting different aspects of the Earth system, and evaluating planetary change at different temporal scales. Students will be taught to apply principles and methods of Earth system science, geology and geophysics to interpret complex Earth systems.Key Modules: Key modules include Understanding Earth systems, Global geophysics, Physical volcanology, Fundamental concepts in geohazards and Earthquake seismology and geology. A significant proportion of time will also be dedicated to an independent research project. Future Careers: Graduates of the Geoscience MSc have gone on to successful careers in a variety of sectors, including environmental consultancy, the hydrocarbon industry, and government agencies. Others have continued in academia, pursuing PhD study. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
