The Advanced Training in Endodontology MClinDent offered by UCL is a full-time three-year course that allows dental practitioners to gain an advanced level of knowledge, understanding, and clinical skills in endodontics. This course is designed to contribute to the development and maintenance of necessary skills for patient care, and the evaluation of scientific literature.Course Content: The endodontology course involves three core aspects of professional training; development of a critical approach to reading the scientific literature, especially papers on diagnosis and treatment in endodontics; development of necessary clinical skills; and development and maintenance of a critical approach to self-assessment and personal professional development planning.Key Modules: The course consists of core modules such as Scientific Foundation of Endodontics, Applied Microbiology and Immunology, Basic Science of Endodontics, Applied Pharmacology in Endodontology, Clinical Endodontics, Diagnosis and Management of Orofacial Pain, and Introduction to Specialist Practice.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England, awarding the Diploma in Endodontic Practice upon successful completion. The course is also accredited by the European Society of Endodontology, and conforms to guidelines set by the General Dental Council (GDC) as a course suitable for dentists applying to register as UK-based specialists in Endodontics.Future Careers: After successfully completing this course, you will have the skill to provide high-quality endodontic treatment. This course can lead to a tissue-saving approach to endodontics, emphasizing the practice of Micro-Endodontics.
