MSc Child and Adolescent Mental Health

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health MSc at University College London (UCL) is an interdisciplinary program that equips students with a comprehensive understanding and skill set in the field of child and adolescent mental health. This course teaches a range of key theories, concepts and issues related to the mental health of young people and how these impact practice and policy. Course Content: This program is structured in modules. The first three are compulsory, providing a solid foundation in the subject matter, while the remaining optional modules allow flexibility to focus the curriculum towards students’ interests and career trajectory. The course dives deep into subjects such as understanding child and adolescent development, evidence-based practice, and research methods. Furthermore, students will undertake a research project, closely supervised by a UCL researcher. Key Modules: The core areas of study include Understanding Child and Adolescent Psychological Development, Evidence-based Child & Adolescent Mental Health Interventions, and Child and Adolescent Mental Health: Research Methods. Other optional modules include Social Epidemiology, Psychoanalytic Observational Studies, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Children and Young People: Theory, to name a few. Accreditations: The degree is duly accredited and delivered by the UCL Institute of Education (IOE).
