The Brain and Mind Sciences MSc course at UCL provide students with an understanding of fundamental principles of neuroscience concerning clinical and cognitive aspects of the brain. Designed around the idea of conceptual convergence, it stresses the importance of an integrated view into the pathways linking neuroscience with more cognitively oriented disciplines such as psychology and cognition.Course Content: The course content consists of three core components; Fundamental Neuroscience, Disorders of the Nervous System, and Cognitive Neuroscience. Alongside these, students are also required to conduct a research project related to the implications of neuroscience for clinical or cognitive research. The curriculum includes lectures, seminars, laboratory visits, and journal clubs. Assessment is through coursework, examinations, presentations, a dissertation, and the research project.Key Modules: The main modules students will study include Fundamental Neuroscience, Disorders of the Nervous System, and Cognitive Neuroscience. They will also take part in an independent research project in an area of their choosing related to neuroscience.Future Careers: Graduates of this course can pursue a range of career options in neuroscience-related research or more clinically oriented work. Career paths include further academic study such as a doctorate, clinical psychology, or work in healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceutical industries, and scientific publishing.
