The Audiological Science with Clinical Practice MSc at the University College London (UCL) is designed to train students in clinical audiology. The course combines scientific theory with practical clinical training in a comprehensive package. Students will learn how to diagnose and manage patients with hearing and balance disorders, using the latest methods and technology.Course Content: The Audiological Science with Clinical Practice MSc course incorporates components from the existing audiology programmes at UCL with several new modules unique to this course. The programme is delivered through lectures, practical sessions, workshops and one-to-one tutorials. During the clinical placements, students gain practical experience in a range of NHS departments and settings.Key Modules: Students will take compulsory modules in Foundations of Audiology, Diagnostic Audiology, Adult Auditory Rehabilitation, Paediatric Audiology, Balance, Advanced Diagnostic Audiology, Paediatric and Complex Adult Rehabilitation, Research Methods, Clinical Practice – observation, Clinical Practice – audiology/ENT, Inter-professional education (dermatology, respiratory and ophthalmology), and the Audiovestibular Clinical Science Research project/dissertation.Accreditations: On successful completion of the MSc degree, students are eligible to apply for registration with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists.Future Careers: After completion of this MSc, graduates can go on to be diagnostic and rehabilitative audiologists within the NHS or in private practice, or to undertake further study towards a research/academic career.
