MArch Design for Manufacture

The Design for Manufacture MSc program offered by UCL provides an understanding of how quality, cost, market need, and customer satisfaction can be managed through effective product design process and discovery. It enables students to understand the link between product design and manufacture and to learn how modern processes and materials can be integrated to ensure lean and sustainable systems. The course is open to both full-time and part-time study.Course Content: The course involves the study of a wide range of modern design and manufacturing techniques and concepts. It covers industrial design, rapid prototyping, digital manufacturing, mechanical design, and manufacturing operations, and supply chain management.Key Modules: The modules include Prototyping, Design Management, Industrial Design, Rapid Manufacturing, Materials Selection, Operational Research, Design and Analysis of Experiments, Complexity Management, and Strategic Management.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).Future Careers: Graduates of this program can expect to have rewarding and challenging careers in a wide range of industries including design, manufacturing, IT, finance, consultancy and management, to list a few.
