The Special and Inclusive Education: Specific Learning Difficulties (MA) course at UCL is designed to improve students' understanding and research skills related to special needs education. Students will gain theoretical and practical knowledge on how to meet the needs of learners with specific difficulties and disabilities. Course Content: This MA degree is full-time for one year and provides a range of perspectives on mainstream and special education. Students will gain detailed knowledge of modern educational issues, with a focus on learners with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders.Key Modules: The course covers various modules including Psychology, Biology and Education of Reading; Contemporary Issues in Special and Inclusive Education; Specific Learning Difficulties (dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD); Research Design and Methodology in Education; and Dissertation/major project.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the British Dyslexia Association (BDA) for Approved Teacher Status and the AMBDA (Associate Member of the BDA).Future Careers: Graduates of this course have gone on to roles as special educational needs teachers, educational psychologists, learning support workers, and specialists in educational products.
