MA Landscape Architecture MLA

The Landscape Architecture MLA at UCL (University College London) is a two-year long, full-time course designed to inspire students towards innovative thinking, creativity, and research. The program emphasises on understanding landscapes as a dynamic and adaptive phenomenon, thus enabling students to approach landscape architecture from an informed perspective.Course Content: The course includes both theoretical and practical components. Key areas of study include technical training using advanced tools and techniques, understanding historical, current and future potential of landscape architecture, innovation and experimentation in design, landscape representation, geographies, ecologies, construction, planting, and more. It also involves a field trip to a European city in the first term, providing students with an international perspective on landscape architecture.Key Modules: The MLA Landscape Architecture comprises of five compulsory modules and two optional modules. Some of these include the Landscape Architecture: Foundation, Landscape Architecture: Design & Construction, Landscape Architecture: Design resolution, Landscape Architecture: Process, and Landscape Architecture: Theory and Research.Accreditations: The MLA Landscape Architecture is accredited by the Landscape Institute and is also a recognized degree by the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA).Future Careers: As graduates of the MLA Landscape Architecture, students are well prepared for roles such as landscape architects, urban designers, researchers, writers, and leaders in the fields of landscape theory, management, planning and design.
