The Engineering and Education MSc at UCL is a distinctive and unique programme that blends engineering with aspects of education policy and practice. This course enables students with engineering backgrounds to explore how mathematics, science and technology are communicated in teaching, learning and professional development contexts, with the aim of catalysing improvements in engineering education.Course Content: The course enables students to combine modules from the Integrated Engineering Programme (IEP) with modules on educational theory and practice. The compulsory module brings together issues in engineering and education, whilst the research project enables students to explore their interests in depth. Key Modules: The course includes a wide range of modules including compulsory modules such as Engineering Education: Theory and Practice and Effective Engineering Teaching. The programme also offers a dissertation and a variety of optional modules such as Materials and Nanomaterials, Project Management, and Engineering Alloys.The programme is delivered by academics from UCL Engineering, the UCL Institute of Education (IOE) and other faculties, with input from industrial partners and policy organisations.
