MA Education, Health Promotion and International Development

The Education, Health Promotion and International Development MA at UCL explores the interconnections between education, health, and international development in low, middle, and high-income countries. It prepares students to work as education and health professionals, advisors, program managers, and consultants in diverse operational, policy-focused and research-centered roles. Course Content: The course equips students with an understanding of the roles of education and learning in enhancement and achievement of health and wellbeing. Alongside this, it enables students to develop a critical understanding of contemporary debates in the field of education, health, and international development. The content is comprehensive, touching on areas such as health education, sex education, health promotion, health literacy, and ecological approaches to health among others.Key Modules: Key modules covered in the course include Education and International Development: Concepts, Theories and Issues; Understanding Education Research; Education, Health Promotion and International development; Promoting Health and Wellbeing: Planning, Practice and Participation; and either Discourse, Power and Society or Understanding Research. Future Careers: Graduates of this course are prepared for roles such as professionals, advisors, program managers, and consultants in fields related to education, health, and international development.
