The BSc Experimental Linguistics International Programme at UCL is aimed at students keen to study how language, the mind, and culture interact. The course provides extensive training in experimental methods that are implemented in labs, field research, and computer programming.Course Content: Studying the Experimental Linguistics International Programme provides students with solid foundations in all the major sub-disciplines of linguistics (phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, and psycholinguistics). Emphasis is also placed on learning how to conduct experiments, statistical analysis, and programming in the Python language. Students also have the unique opportunity to spend a year studying at a university overseas as part of the four year course. Key Modules: The course modules include Introduction to Generative Grammar, Introduction to Phonetic Science, Introduction to Syntax, Speech Science, Semantics-Pragmatics, Phonetics and Phonology, and Field Phonetics, among others.Accreditations: Not mentioned.Future Careers: Graduates of the Experimental Linguistics International Programme at UCL have progressed to roles in the technology sector, in areas such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and voice recognition.
