BA Romanian and Russian

The Romanian and Russian BA course offered by UCL promises students a multi-faceted exploration of the culture, history, linguistics and literature of Romanian and Russian societies. The course curriculum aims to equip students with a profound understanding of both Romanian and Russian languages, along with an in-depth insight into the socio-political dimensions of these regions. Course Content: The course structure is evenly distributed over four years, with an additional year abroad as part of the course. Students will be introduced to the comprehensive language modules from the beginner’s level, moving towards fluency. The course covers distinct aspects of Eastern European societies, history, politics, and culture through meticulously designed modules. Key Modules: The key modules include Intensive Romanian Language for Beginners, Russian Literature, Russian Cinema, Introduction to Eastern European Cultures, Literature and Film, and Discourses on Eastern Europe among others. In addition, students receive comprehensive training in translation skills.
