The Politics, Sociology and East European Studies with a Year Abroad BA at University College London (UCL) is a full-time, four-year undergraduate degree program. This interdisciplinary course allows students to delve into the socio-political realities of Eastern Europe whilst gaining a well-rounded understanding of the intricacies of politics and sociology on a broader scale. Students spend their third year studying abroad at an East European University, thereby gaining first-hand experience with the regional cultures, politics, and societies.Course Content: The course is spread over four years and involves the study of core and optional modules in Politics, Sociology, and East European Studies. The initial phase of the course is based on developing fundamental understanding; advancing further, students are exposed more comprehensively to the intricacies of East European Studies and given the choice of choosing from a wide pool of modules. The third year is spent studying in an East European university, providing students a first-hand experience of Eastern European social and political realities.Key Modules: Key modules include Introduction to Political Science, Introduction to European History, and Sociological Theory.
