BA Polish and Spanish

The Polish and Spanish BA course at UCL (University College London) is designed to immerse students in the languages, literatures and cultures of Poland and the Spanish-speaking world. This course allows the students to become proficient in two widely spoken European languages and have a deep understanding of the societal and cultural contexts in which they are used.Course Content: The course is designed in such a way that students can progressively enhance their language ability in Spanish and Polish through a combination of core language modules and optional modules that explore both Polish and Spanish literature, history, and culture. The third year incorporates a year abroad, providing students with a unique opportunity to improve their language skills and cultural understanding by living and studying in countries where the languages are spoken.Key Modules: For each language, students are required to study a series of core modules such as "Polish Language", "Latin American Cultural Identities", "Spain: Political Decentralisation and Integration into Europe", among others. They can also choose from a range of optional modules, including "Images of Women in Spanish Cinema", "Making of Modern Polish Culture", and more.Future Careers: A degree in Polish and Spanish BA equips students with skills that are highly sought-after by employers. Graduates have gone on to work in various professional fields including commerce, finance, teaching, translating, interpreting, and diplomacy.
